Funeral Speaker – Memorial Service
As your funeral orator, abbot Reding gives the relatives a spiritual, formal and public framework so that the event of death can be consciously carried out and dealt with. Each of us will eventually die - through the natural process of birth, old age, and death - and therefore we should continually re-examine the impermanence of life and death wholeheartedly.
Empty handed we come, empty handed we go.
FUNERAL SERVICE
Since there are no compulsory and complex rituals for the ceremony, the course of the funeral will be decided in consultation with you.
We would be happy to discuss your specific wishes regarding the duration of the funeral, procedures, additional texts and free speeches with you personally.
We will recite the “Logos of the Heart” for the deceased and loved ones and give a personal speech. The recited text is given to the family and contains the dates of the 49th and 100th memorial day.
To symbolize transience, a pinch of incense is burned in front of the grave and during the burial.
Anniversary: We would be happy to guide you through a memorial and commemoration ceremony. This can be held at the grave site, in our Honora Zen monastery or at a location of your choice.

Non-denominational
The funeral ceremony is non-denominational, i.e. members of all faiths are very welcome.
Oblations
We recommend 700 CHF or by arrangement (plus expenses & voluntary donation).
