Christian Initiation Ritual for Men – Authentic masculinity requires a religious journey that few men complete.
Many young men came to meditate and pray, and when I became a father myself, I realized how lost we men are today. As sons and as fathers. The search for order, meaning, and ultimately for God and Jesus has been lost to most men today. A fatherly vacuum has emerged, and the poison of the death mother has paralyzed us.
Fatherless Society - Fatherless Families
The tragedy of our time is that we live in a fatherless society and grow up in fatherless families.
In fatherless families, the spirit of the father is castrated, emasculated, and impotent. The father, however, must introduce his children to religion so that they strive for the true, the beautiful, and the good. For the father's blessing strengthens the children's homes (patriarchy), but the mother's curse uproots the foundations (matriarchy).
And that's why many people no longer believe in God. We try to satisfy a spiritual longing with something physical, which never works. There is no saturation point for a spiritual longing with physical means.
Love of the Father - Christian Initiation Ritual for Men
But without the love of the father and God, young men remain dependent on their mothers. Because only men socialize, raise, and lead men. We must dissolve our dependence on the symbolic mother in order to become men and fathers. All major transitions in life should be accompanied by "male rites of passage." Male rites of passage designed to help men take the step toward "becoming a man."
Authentic Masculinity - The Adventure of Becoming a Man
Authentic masculinity requires a religious journey that few men complete. We have replaced sacred male rights with hollow achievements, degrees, promotions, and possessions, none of which address the profound inner transformation required for authentic masculinity.
The result: adult men with a boyish psychology, disconnected from their souls and playing roles instead of embodying true masculine power.
Modern society has abandoned these practices, leaving men helpless in their development, expected to become men without guidance in this profound inner transformation.
With our Catholic priest Martin Geisser from Reichenburg, the Christian initiation ritual for men was born. The men must leave their mothers and their homes, symbolically engulfed in chaos, and then be initiated into the religious tradition (Christianity) because:
A man prays differently than a child. His prayer also becomes more conscious, deeper, the conversation of an adult with God. Likewise, because faith also becomes more conscious, deeper, and mature. How often does it happen, however, that precisely this part is the most backward, undeveloped, the most important part of a person, especially a man. (My grandfather's prayer book, Einsiedeln)
The Mountain Week - Christian Initiation Ritual for Men
The Mountain Week (Christian initiation ritual for men) is a week in which we do not lie down and sleep, but devote ourselves entirely to meditation and prayer.
Catholic Pastor Martin Geisser from Reichenburg gives a Christian inspiration every day and concludes with a service on the last night (Friday) in the Peace Chapel in Reichenburg. During the service, a kind of Easter liturgy takes place, including a renewal of baptismal vows. Everyone is welcome, but no religious affiliation is required.

Christian Initiation Ritual for Men - Through Death to Life!
Seven days count as one! To commemorate the enlightenment of the saints and sages, the initiation ritual, the Mountain Week, takes place twice a year (January & August). During this week, we will not lie down and will devote all activities to meditation. The ritual marks an important stage in life, allowing one to consciously enter into the new responsibility with change.
