Confession – Life Counseling – To share the burden in private – Examine your life in a protected and trustful setting!
During confession you have the opportunity to examine your life in a protected and trustful setting with the abbot of the Honora Zen monastery.
Why do you want to go to Confession?
To share the burden in private. Because we, the monks and priests, are bound by our oath, it is not revealed to the public. With confession you have the opportunity for a new beginning, because you break out of the eternal circle of thoughts of your own mistakes in your head. And the advice and tasks given by the confessor connects this new beginning with a discipline.
Confessor
The confessor represents an outer discipline and thus helps one to process and realign sinful (deviation from the goal) behavior. The respective meditation tasks should be useful to find back to the true self.
Error - Confession
You make mistakes, but you are not the mistake.
You have a mind and body but you are not the body and mind. When I don't identify with the true self, I identify with either my mind or my body. But since body and mind are connected, I fight forever against the other (dilemma). From the true self, however, body and mind become a dialogue.
The inner child - plagues of bad conscience
As the children confess and report to their parents in confidence, the plagues of bad conscience are alleviated. It will be shared. But because it is very personal, this sharing must take place in a protected and familiar environment. We show our vulnerability.
Upon awakening to your true self, you are called a holy One; upon forgetting your true self, you are called a sentient being. Human life is very short. It cannot last for long. Who is to blame if you live to no purpose and die in distress?
